the day i made eggs.

my favorite type of eggs is sunnyside up! it's what i order when i get eggs at a diner; 2 eggs sunnyside up, hash browns, an english muffin and BACON.
anyway. so for someone who loves food as much as i do, i'm pretty inexperienced in the kitchen. embarrassedly so. I actually had to google how to "make broccoli"
so one day i ran to my computer and learned how to make my favorite type of eggs. and now....the sunny robot presents.....SUNNYSIDE UP EGGS.
spray the pan, or lube it up with butter. mmmmbutterrrr.
crack the eggs and try to keep the yolks as much in the center of the splayed egg as possible. nice and low heat, cover, and watch! you can tell it's done once the edges of the egg turn brown.

i was SO happy with how they came out! i don't say this word often....but...i think they were perfect.

then i had to jazz it up so i could use up everything in my fridge.

over two slices of sourdough bread, eggs with cherry tomatoes, grated romano cheese and TONS of pepper. oh yea, some salsa on the side tooo.

and that was the day i made eggs.

by demand...an update!
good morning i suppose. it is 4:50 am, birds are awake, sun is not. Last evening i was romping around in the ivy at the museum of modern art, listening to Cat Power and David Bowie. all events i am thankful for, work, brother bear, being introduced to Cat Power so i have something to listen to at this god awful hour.
feeling sick and uncomfortably not tired, the early edition of the today show is playing in the background of my room. Nothing good. Nothing new.

things that are new.....PICTURES! these are pretty much all from my birthday, which was an explosion of culinary and undeniably good/bad for you food. without further ado....burfday. i am 23.

deep. fried. pizza. need i say more, other than, thank you kristen fraley!

Beef Kidney Pie, over chips. an "aquired taste". which kristen acquired, and i did not. Kinda bad ass no matter!

Fried Haddock and Chips. Andrew's choice, and a very wise one at that. Cripsy, juicy, perfect.

Birthday Dinner #2
Blood Orange Margarita at Mojave in Queens. the salt was unnecessary, but it was such an nicely different citrus flavor, with birthday portion booze.
Pepita Crusted Atlantic Salmon, over sauteed tomatoes and spinach. Sorry for the rubbish picture, but i still have dreams about this meal.

In my neck of the woods we call this the "Mother Lode" . (breathe) Chocolate Molten Cake with Banana Praline Ice Cream, accompanied by an blueberry margarita.
The cake oozed hot fudge like god's volcano, and i didn't die from the ice cream! (always a plus)
the switch up with the margarita wasn't a bad idea, but next time i will stick with the blood orange. A little watered down for this birthday girl.

That concludes this birthday blog.

now maybe i can get some sleep.

peace, love and wiliams-sonoma.
